As my first adventure in Hancesti was accomplished, I fought with myself not to stay in bed on a sunny day of January, yes, it was warm enough in January, and start my second mini trip to Capriana.
It is situated not so far from Chisinau, capital of Moldova. So, I took my husband, Costea, and our friend, Sasha, and like cowboys under sunshine went to discover little beauties of Moldova. But this was after the moment when Sasha waited us at Rock'n'Roll Cafe more than one hour, because we are lazy asses if it comes to waking up, especially me!
Anyway, the trip begun. In 30-40 minutes we arrived in Capriana and took off our guns (by guns I mean cameras) and started shooting people, places, buildings and nature.
What to do here?
1. Look at people and their customs on holidays
As it was 7th January, on this day, most of moldavian people celebrates Christmas in old style. What to do, we have two Christmas! I caught little kids that were singing carols and getting sweets and money as a reward. There were also a group of women dressed in national clothes and singing all way Christmas songs. Their happy spirit made me smile :)
2. Visit Capriana Monastery
This is the only one sightseeing in Capriana, but it has more things to show you. Once you approach the monastery, a small park in front of it is placed with an artificial lake and pavement. Here you can walk in peace and enjoy the playful reflections of church on water.
It is a monastery complex that consists out of three churches: Assumption of the Virgin Mary, St. Nicholas, St. George. More than that, Metropolitan G. Banulescu-Bodoni is buried here. We waited for it almost one hour and finally bought two icons of him for our relatives.
3. Chasing cats =^ . ^=
Yes, inside the Capriana Monastery there is a Heaven for Cats. There were everywhere, some were laying on the pavement enjoying the sun, some were playing in the grass, some were chasing us for food. Especially, Sasha, he was in love with them and charmed by their purr!
One more idea is to make a photoshoot inside Capriana monastery complex, as it's a calm place with a nice yard and old architectural buildings. If you are curious, check out my photoshoot at Capriana!
